BARRIER-FREE EVENTS

Events are an integral part of our social life. The Festspielhaus Bregenz sees itself as a place that is open to everyone. That’s why we attach such importance to ensuring that all participants and guests can move through the premises unhindered and find their way around independently as far as possible. In this way, we assume social responsibility in terms of sustainability – because accessibility benefits everyone.

VISUAL AND AUDITORY AIDS

WIRELESS DEVICES FOR VISITORS WITH IMPAIRED HEARING

If you have a Sennheiser EW 300 bodypack receiver of your own, it is possible to use it in the Festspielhaus. Our transmission frequency is 518.400 MHz.
If you don’t have such a device, you can borrow one on the day of the event from the audience service desk in the entrance foyer next to the Ticket Center.
During the Bregenz Festival, “unrestricted hearing” is possible in the lake stage auditorium, too, thanks to the very same device. It’s also used for guided tours, public talks and simultaneous translations.

VISITORS WITH IMPAIRED MOBILITY, WHEELCHAIR USERS

All venues inside the Festspielhaus can be accessed with ease thanks to our lifts.
The auditorium of the Großer Saal has space for six wheelchairs. If advance notice is given and if the modifiable stage permits, the number of spaces for wheelchair users can be increased to up to 20.

VISITOR GUIDANCE SYSTEM FOR VISUALLY IMPAIRED PEOPLE

In all areas open to visitors, there is signage on handrails and in lifts for the benefit of the partially sighted. Textured flooring guides these visitors safely through the Festspielhaus to the barrier-free event rooms.
